North Korea Freedom Week 2020

The corona virus cannot stop North Korea Freedom Week!

Although we are unable to send staff to Seoul for the 17th Annual North Korea Freedom Week which will take place April 26-May 2, 2020 in South Korea, we are pleased to share that sessions will be posted on YouTube each day. The sessions are generally scheduled for 9 AM KST / 8 PM EDT. We will post videos here as they become available. While most sessions will be held in Korean, some translation will be provided.

North Korean Women’s Rights Event Held Online

On March 10, we again co-sponsored an annual event on North Korean women’s rights with the North Korea Freedom Coalition before the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The event, 25 Years of Repression and Regression in North Korea, focused on the lack of progress on North Korean women’s rights in the last quarter century.

Unfortunately, due to the corona virus, the in-person component of our event scheduled to take place in New York was cancelled by the UN Secretary General. Instead, we made the decision to host the event online. Please click the link above to view a recording of the event.
